Skilled Migration to New Zealand
If you are intending to migrate to New Zealand and wish to work as an optometrist you must have an optometry qualification recognised by the NZ Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board.
Once registration is obtained in New Zealand, optometrists are able to apply for a temporary work permit or for permanent residence in New Zealand.
People wanting to move to New Zealand will need to meet a number of requirements to gain residence under the Skilled Migrant Category. These include health, age, character, and English language requirements.
Further information regarding Migration to New Zealand can be obtained from the New Zealand Immigration Service website.
